The Keeshond wears a coat made for Laurentian cold and a temperament made for life at the center of the family. Our litters are born in the house — never in an outdoor kennel.
One breed, known by heart.
We have bred only the Keeshond for eleven years. No trends, no à la carte crosses: the time we would have spent skimming five breeds, we spend actually knowing this one — its temperament, its grooming needs, its particular way of attaching to a family.
Our females live with us, in the house, year-round. They aren't "production" mothers: each has two or three litters in her lifetime, then retires right here, warm, sometimes visited by puppies from years past.

Health tested before breeding
Hips, patellas, eyes and heart: our breeding dogs complete the screenings recommended for the breed before any litter. You receive the actual results, not a summary.
Socialized at home
Daily handling from birth, gradual exposure to household noise, children, other dogs — and, as soon as the weather allows, to snow itself.
Support for life
Grooming, seasonal coat blow, the Keeshond's vocal streak: we stay reachable long after your puppy leaves. And if you ever can't keep them, they come back here. Always.
A Dutch barge dog, built for the cold.
The Keeshond descends from watchdogs that rode Dutch canal barges: a vigilant, intelligent companion, deeply attached to its people. Its double coat — wolf-grey, silver-tipped, with a spectacular ruff — protects it as well from open water as from a Laurentian winter.
It is a house dog above all: it doesn't tolerate being left alone for long stretches or living outdoors. In return, it follows you everywhere, announces everything, and keeps its mischievous fox-like expression well into old age.

You write to us
Tell us about your household: your schedule, your experience with vocal, fluffy dogs, your grooming expectations. We reply within one to two days, honestly.
We meet at the house
Visits by appointment in Saint-Sauveur, even before a litter is born. You meet the parents in their real environment, not a show kennel.
Reservation and matching
A $500 deposit confirms your place. Matching happens around week six, based on observed temperament — not the shade of grey picked from a photo.
Going home at nine weeks
A little later than average: the Keeshond benefits from one extra week with its litter. Your puppy leaves vaccinated, microchipped and examined by our veterinarian, with a health record and a blanket that smells like the litter.
A litter is expected this fall.
